Flight of the Conchords

I like how I started out coming up with clever titles for my posts, and the farther I go the lazier I get...

If you're a fan of music and dry humor you'll fall in love with the show "Flight of the Conchords"! This show is centered around 2 best friends named Bret and Jemaine who moved from their hometown in New Zealand to the United States to pursue their career in the music business. Neither of them know how to manage living in a city on very low salary, so they have a bit of a struggle. Every episode the singing duo breaks out into song about how they're feeling or what's happening at the very moment. It's very dry straight-forward humor, and the songs are hilarious!

OFFICIAL RATING: If you like music and humor, watch this show!

Hot In Cleveland

I was sifting through Netflix yesterday and came across this show called Hot In Cleveland. I figured it was some reality TV show, but decided to click on it anyway. Thankfully I did! This show is hilarious!

3 best friends are taking a trip from Los Angeles (where they live) to Paris on a getaway! They were expecting romance and an escape from their everyday lives. That's exactly what they would have gotten...if their plane hadn't wound up landing in Cleveland, Ohio. Since Joy, Victoria, and Melanie are well into their 40's and are no longer considered "hotties", they decided to stay in Cleveland on account of the sudden attention men began to give them there. There is only one catch: The house they decided to move into came with an elderly caretaker named Elka who can't seem to keep herself away from them.

This show is hilarious. Betty White plays the role of the caretaker, so you can't go wrong. Every episode is filled with another crazy attempt at finding men. You won't get bored of this show.

OFFICIAL RATING: In the mood for a funny sitcom? Check this out!

Joy: How do I look?

Elka: Like you stepped out of a painting........OF HOOKERS!

Enjoy it!

Mad Caddies

Looking for a band that mixes reggae, ska, punk rock, and awesome?!

Mad Caddies is definitely the band for you! These guys are great. They are mainly focused around their brass section, which always gives an upbeat sound, but they also have a very unique quality to them!
This band is one of my favorites because every single song sounds different from the one before it. There are slow songs, fast songs, upbeat, and chill. You won't get tired of listening to them.

Recommended albums: Just One More and Rock the Plank

Let's Keep This Real

"It is said that present is pregnant with the future"

What do you get when you take the plot line of "Secret Life of the American Teenager" and throw in the actress Molly Ringwald?

]
For Keeps is a 1988 movie about a High School senior named Darcy Elliot who gets pregnant with her long term boyfriend Stan's baby. Both of their parents go nuts and the 2 of them wind up running off together. They buy a condo, he gets a job, they get married, and everything turns out fine! (Not so much.) Everything goes downhill after she has the baby.

I liked this movie because it was realistic to how teen pregnancies tend to go these days. The couple gets married, they live by themselves, and everything goes fine...until the baby comes and they run out of money. If you're looking for a heartwarming yet realistic drama, this is definitely worth watching! It has a good amount of humor, yet it says realistic to how a pregnancy might actually go.

OFFICIAL RATING: Check this movie out! (Teens. Pregnancy sucks if you don't have money.)

Enjoy,

Are we really Better Off?

What do you get when you combine the quirkiness of Arrested Development with the setting of an office? Better Off Ted!!!!

This show takes place in the research and development department at one of America's largest companies. (Veridian Dynamics). With the help of his friends/colleagues, our main character Ted does his best at running the R&D portion of the company. Everything would work out great...if the products they create weren't so bizarre. The top scientists in the company Lem and Phil are always on the job creating anything from beef made without cows to jet packs that send you to space. With all of this Ted is doing his best to fight off the sexual tension between him and a product tester named Linda. Did I mention he also has a somewhat eccentric uptight business-like boss named Veronica?
This show in my opinion has EVERYTHING! It's funny, quirky, creative, and always keeps you wondering what's going to happen next. It unfortunately only lasted for 2 seasons, but it's worth the watch!

OFFICIAL RATING: You should check this show out!

Beginnings are always Messy

Hello world. I am someone who doesn't know very much about everything, but I know a great deal about very little. I have no real views on world hunger or politics. I don't read the newspaper or listen to NPR. But I pay attention to other things around me. And those things that I pay attention to deserve to be shared. So that is exactly what I intend to do.

"Life is not so much about beginnings and endings as it is about going on and on and on. It is about muddling through the middle."

A little song about beginnings that start from endings!

ANYWAY, every time I post I'll have another theme. It might be a movie I saw, or a book I read, or a new band I found. Sometimes, I may just pick a topic. A less funny version of "Important Things With Demitri Martin."

With that, I will leave you be! If you stumble upon this, follow it. Tell your friends. Be obscure.
